The
focus of our Summer Camp program is to provide a fun, safe, constructive
and positive environment in which children can learn the basic principles
of martial arts training or continue to build on the skills they
have already been exposed to as martial arts students. In addition
to two daily martial arts lessons children will take part in team
building exercises, leadership training, fun physical games and mental
challenges all designed to reinforce the principles they are learning
as Martial Arts Students,. Our program builds self esteem, confidence,
focus, discipline, leadership skills, and physical ability. Children
will also learn valuable self-defense and how to respond to any potentially
threatening situation.
We will be holding weekly physical and mental challenges in which our Summer
Camp Teams will compete against one another in earning points towards a
grand prize given at the end of camp to the team with the most points.
This builds up a healthy understanding of competition and teaches Children
to work together as a team.
Along with the martial arts training we strive to make our summer camp
a well-rounded experience for your children. We have planned field trips
that include:
• Ice Skating
• The Pier–Combination of Aquarium and Beach wildlife Tour
• Wet and Wild Days at the Blue Jays Stadium in Dunedin
(Baseball game included)
• Heritage Village
• Roller Skating
• Boyd Hill Nature Park–Learning about our local environment
Your children will also be exposed to Art, Dance, Music, Film, Safety,
Science, and Wildlife. We have Guest speakers coming in weekly to teach
your children about these and other educational and fun
Topics. Some of the guests we have lined up include:
• Wildlife Rescue (bringing animals)
• Personal Safety Experts
• Canine Police Officer
• Kid Flix (Movies for and by Kids)
• Dance Instructor (working weekly with the Children)
• Fossil Guy
• And More!
Our team of instructors and program facilitators are all experienced in
working with children. As martial arts Instructors we have over 30 years
collective experience. We have a limited enrollment so we can insure that
All of our summer camp students receive the attention and direction they
deserve.
We operate our camp on a week to week basis but encourage parents to keep
their children in the camp for the 10 weeks as they are learning martial
arts skills which they build on week to week. The children who participate
in the camp for the entire 10 weeks will reach their first belt level by
the end of camp. |
